Oct 6 & 7, 2022 - Holiday Inn Mumbai International Airport

National Spice Conference (NSC)

India is the largest producer, exporter and consumer of spices in the world, contributing about 48% of the world's requirements. But the industry is challenged by the new safety, sustainability and traceability standards followed internationally. About 85% of the total spices produced in India are consumed in the domestic market, it is also important to ensure the quality and safety of spices traded within India.

The World Spice Organisation along with its partners have initiated the National Spice Conference to tackle the challenges regarding overall food safety.

The theme for the conference is ''Food Safe Spices: Getting the Basics Right''.

It's aimed at FPOs, farmer groups, retailers, traders, exporters and other service providers. The conference will discuss emerging trends in food safety regulations, changing consumer and demand patterns, ground-level challenges for sustainability and biodiversity, innovations and new trends in value chain partnerships.
